Issue with ZATCA App QR Code Scanning

we’ve encountered an Issue when attempting to scan QR codes on invoices using the ZATCA mobile app.

The problem manifests in two ways:

Successful Scan Error Message: After scanning the QR code of B2B Invoices, the app displays a message stating, “Thank you for scanning the QR code. QR Code information has been transmitted to ZATCA.”

Failed Scanning: At times, the ZATCA mobile app is unable to scan QR codes successfully, and no data is retrieved.

Earlier the ZATCA Mobile was working as expected without any issue

Would like to report as well that B2C invoices are not being read by in the latest version of the Zatca mobile application 1.2.3 (Android) and 1.2.0 (iOS). The invoices however are still readable when using an older version 1.1.8 (Android) and some B2B invoices that are unreadable in 1.2.3, are readable in 1.1.8.

Please advise when will the latest fix be deployed. Thank you

Thanks, following this thread as we are seeing the same response from QR Code scanning:

Following.

We are facing the same issue with the latest iOS version.

Invoice is ACCEPTED but QR fails to scan.

@Ankit_Tiwari , Any update. can you please when this issue will be fixed.

@Ankit_Tiwari multiple taxpayers are facing this issue wherein the QR code returned by ZATCA for standard tax invoices are not scanned correctly by the latest version of the ZATCA VAT app. Need your inputs on this and also if anything has to be changed from our side.

Dear @vinay.hegde @sameer @sotos.h @eljohn.calisang @Jeff.Mendoza this issue is communicated with Mobile App team. Will keep you posted on the resolution.

When we scan the QR Code using the ZATCA Mobile app, we are receiving unable to verify the QR Code. Can you please check.

@sameer IOS or Android? Have you updated the QR Code app? Please paste the QR Code string here

@Ankit_Tiwari The ZATCA app is still having issues. Scanning a QR code just keeps the page in loading mode and we don’t see any results. This is true for both Android and iOS apps running the below app versions, which we believe are the latest versions.

  • iOS - 1.3.8
  • Android - 1.5.2

@Shashank are you scanning Invoices outside KSA? There is no problem when in QR Code scans in KSA

@Ankit_Tiwari Yes, we are scanning this outside India. Is there anyway we can get this working since this is crucial for product development?

@Ankit_Tiwari ,we are using IOS, Yes i have updated the QR code app.

2. And sometime its get scanned, but VAT amount is not displayed in the QR Code.

We are also getting the same issue, the QR code used to work in older versions, but we are getting the issue in the newer ones. It shows loading for a long time and then shows a message “Unable to Verify”.

The app gets stuck for a few minutes, we are unable to press the done button when it comes. We have to wait for some time for it to be enabled.

We have tried on iOS as well as Android.
