Item name arabic in XML

Just to confirm, does the XML strictly require Arabic content for item name, or is it acceptable to use English?

As per VAT Regulations, Tax Invoices must be in Arabic language (text that is visible on human readable form of invoice). To provide Arabic and English you can provide the values in same field and use a | separator (please look at sample XMLs in SDK). Content on human readable form of invoice cannot be different from content in XML. If XML has both Arabic and English content then same must be visualized on human readable form.

I checked whether having the item name in Arabic is mandatory for the XML part, and I found the following:

1. In the PDF, the Arabic item description is mandatory.

2. In the XML, the Arabic item description is not mandatory.

These are few examples

1. XML invoice generated from taxilla company.

2. XML example generated for a company running this Zatca integration since 2023

3. Answer from consultant who done the Zatca integration for Lulu hyper market and Zamil group in KSA also he was contributed with Microsoft to build Zatca solution.

Question :

Item name in the xml can be in English that is fine s far I know correct ?

Yes, no issue about that.

First of all, please note that as per VAT Regulations, Tax Invoices must be in Arabic. Taxpayers are allowed to issue invoices in Arabic and English (Arabic being mandatory).

You may use transliterated words for those which cannot be translated without loosing the original meaning.

The content in PDF should strictly match content in XML for the item description and all other fields which are covered in Data Dictionary (either as mandatory / conditional / optional). Additional information which is not covered by any of the fields in data dictionary can be added directly to the PDF without including it in XML.
