When issuing a Credit Note, is it necessary to send only the total adjusted amount, or should the itemized list with the updated quantities and prices after the adjustment also be sent?
Scenario:
An invoice was issued for 100 pens at a total value of 200 SAR. The invoice was generated for the full amount of 200 SAR. However, the supplier only delivered 70 pens, worth 140 SAR. In this case, a credit note would be created.
Options:
- Option 1: Send a credit note for 60 SAR, referencing the original invoice number.
- Option 2: Send a credit note with Updated the original invoice to reflect the actual quantity delivered (70 pens) and the adjusted price (140 SAR), referencing the credit note number.
I would like to know the correct procedure according to ZATCA regulations.
