When issuing a Credit Note, is it necessary to send only the total adjusted amount, or should the itemized list with the updated quantities and prices after the adjustment also be sent?

When issuing a Credit Note, is it necessary to send only the total adjusted amount, or should the itemized list with the updated quantities and prices after the adjustment also be sent?

Scenario:

An invoice was issued for 100 pens at a total value of 200 SAR. The invoice was generated for the full amount of 200 SAR. However, the supplier only delivered 70 pens, worth 140 SAR. In this case, a credit note would be created.

Options:

  • Option 1: Send a credit note for 60 SAR, referencing the original invoice number.
  • Option 2: Send a credit note with Updated the original invoice to reflect the actual quantity delivered (70 pens) and the adjusted price (140 SAR), referencing the credit note number.

I would like to know the correct procedure according to ZATCA regulations.

Supplier should issue a credit note with details for relating to the quantity that was not delivered (30 pens).

Salam,
you need to have line in the credit note so you need to enter quantity, amount and calculations etc. and it will have reference of original invoice plus reason so unable to understand your option 1 how you will just have CN only with amount. thanks
