Authority access to stored e-invoices and notes

Please can you clarify the below regarding the storage of the e-invoices and associated notes.

  1. Would the authorities want to access a file repository and do a file explorer search for the files needed OR
  2. Would the authorities want the ability to filter for a specific day/TaxPayer and download a file.
